About 6 years ago, Lamborghini unveiled the Aventador. The ultra-wide, stunningly fast supercar was projected to have a 10-year product life. We’ve now passed the halfway mark of that projection.

So what new, innovative version of the Aventador has Lamborghini come out with now? Well, none other than the Lamborghini Aventador S.

This new 2018 Lamborghini Aventador S coupe has people excited for a multitude of reasons, so strap in as we take you through 5 facts about this supercar that will entice you to do whatever it takes to get your hands on one.

1) Rear Wheel Steering

People may argue that this vehicle might be the best Lamborghini ever. One of the biggest knocks on Lambos is that they tend to fishtail around corners due to the structural design of most of them. Lamborghini has finally addressed this on the Lamborghini Aventador S by adding RWS(rear wheel steering).

Featuring two separate actuators, the Aventador S is able to turn its rear wheels in the opposite direction of a turn, shortening the wheelbase and all but eliminating the understeer of years past.

2) Improved Handling

Despite being one of the heavier vehicles of its kind on the market, the Lamborghini Aventador S handles a lot better than its original version. To accomplish this, engineers added 4 different modes for you to drive it in.

  • Strada mode
  • Sport mode
  • Corsa mode
  • Ego mode

Each of these modes is tailored to a different driving style and allows you to adapt to wherever you are. It still retains its top speed of 220 mph, and it can hit 60 mph it a mere 2.9 seconds as well. It’s still a car built for speed, but it’s a little easier to handle now.

3) Control Freaks Will Love Ego Mode

The aptly named “Ego Mode” actually allows the driver to control the stiffness of the chassis, traction control, and steering settings. This mode is only for the most hardcore drivers, who know exactly where and how they want to drive this toy.

4) A Full Auditory Experience

Hearing that engine rip is one of the most satisfying parts of owning a Lambo, or any supercar really. That’s why the company has added a special feature for those who really want to bask in the mechanical roar of the Lamborghini Aventador S.

Right behind the drivers head, there’s a divider at the rear of the monocoque. This divider separates the engine compartment from the passenger compartment, but when you open it up it allows the full fury of your V-12 to envelop you as you press down on the gas pedal.

5) Foreign Made – American Bought

Despite being exclusively designed and manufactured in northern Italy, the latest Lamborghinis have been sold to mostly American customers. Surprising, considering that there are some very big foreign markets for supercars out there. One of them being the UAE who barely makes the top ten list of Lamborghini buyers.
